For studying, AI is most useful as an explainer and a quizzer: upload your own lecture notes, slides or set readings, ask for an explanation at your current level, then have it test you on the same material and mark your answers.
The failure mode with AI and coursework is asking it to produce the artefact you were meant to produce. The productive mode is using it to compress the gap between reading something and understanding it.

A study loop that works

Limitations
