Privacy At ChatOTL
ChatOTL stores your account record, conversations and messages, workspace settings, uploaded files and knowledge documents, prompt presets, and usage counters for billing. Your messages are sent to the model provider you select in order to generate replies, and are not used to train models.
This is a plain description of data handling in the product. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and it does not replace the terms of the model provider you choose.
What is stored
- Account identity: email address and authentication metadata.
- Conversations and messages, including the model used per message.
- Workspace settings, model preferences and reusable system prompts.
- Uploaded files and knowledge-base documents, plus derived text chunks and embeddings.
- Usage counters and subscription state needed to enforce plan limits and billing.
What leaves the workspace
- Message content and extracted file text go to the model provider you select, only to generate that reply.
- Payment details are handled by the payment processor; card data never reaches ChatOTL.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Training
Your conversations, uploads and knowledge documents are not used to train models. They are used to serve your own requests.
Retention and deletion
- Deleting a conversation removes it and its messages from your workspace.
- Deleting a knowledge document removes its stored file, chunks and embeddings.
- Requests already processed by a model provider fall under that provider's retention policy.
Cookies and tracking
The app sets the cookies and local storage entries required to keep you signed in and remember interface preferences. There is no advertising tracker in the product.
Limitations
- ChatOTL cannot delete data from a third-party model provider on your behalf.
- Operational backups may briefly retain deleted rows before rotating out.
- No end-to-end encryption of message content.
Frequently asked questions
Do you train AI models on my chats?
No. Your content is only used to produce your own replies.
Who can see my uploaded files?
Only your account. Files sit in private storage and are read through short-lived signed URLs.
What happens to my data if I delete a conversation?
It is removed from your workspace along with its messages. Provider-side records follow that provider's policy.
Do you store my payment card details?
No. Payments are processed by the payment provider and card data never reaches ChatOTL.
